Meet Loco, a lively senior pup who has recently achieved a significant milestone. Birthdays at the animal shelter can be a blast, but the Spartanburg Humane Society staff wants to make Loco’s celebration an extraordinary experience that he will cherish forever.

According to Angel Cox, Director of Operations at Spartanburg Humane Society, Loco was treated to a birthday celebration, complete with a birthday hat, frilly necklace, and a heartfelt song from the entire staff. Loco enjoyed a sweet potato pie and was even given a happy birthday banner for her office door from the company that provided the cake. Although only Loco’s favorite people were invited, the celebration was a hit despite the absence of any dogs due to Loco’s selective personality when it comes to forming bonds. Everyone who attended delighted in honoring Loco, who has won their hearts over the past two years.

In 2020, Loco was brought to the shelter because of some medical problems. However, he has now become quite famous there. The staff at the shelter have provided him with his own cozy space where he can rest without any disturbance from other dogs or humans. According to Cox, Loco now resides in a comfortable office and has access to three to four dog beds where he loves to nap.

Nevertheless, Loco has shown immense resilience by overcoming her illness. She has successfully tested negative for heartworm, and also receives routine vaccinations and thyroid medication to ensure her continued health.
