Prepare to be moved by the heartwarming tale of two cat siblings who share an incredible bond despite their physical limitations. Meet Lola and Lucy, two sisters who have a strong and extraordinary connection. Despite being visually challenged, these felines depend on each other in a very special way. One of them is blind, and the other has only one eye, but they work together as a team.

At the start of the year, Happy Jack Rescue, a small rescue group located in Boise, Idaho, welcomed two sisters into their care. Despite their medical needs, the rescue group took them in and observed the strong bond between the two felines. However, due to limited resources, Happy Jack reached out to various rescue groups across the United States for help. Unfortunately, only Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue in Kenosha, Wisconsin responded and offered assistance. To transport the cats from Idaho to Wisconsin, Kirsten Kranz, founder/director of SPCR, arranged for a volunteer flight attendant to fly them over 1,600 miles. Before being transported to their new foster home, the cats received a thorough check-up by a local vet in Boise.

Let me introduce you to Lucy and Lola, the cutest pair of siblings you’ll ever see. Lucy is the older sister and has been blind since birth. Lola, on the other hand, is the younger one and has a functional eye, which makes her the boss among the two. Two years ago, when they were born, they weighed only around two pounds each. Their caretaker, Lentz, shared that the first thing they did was to ensure that the sisters gained some weight as they were extremely thin.

The two cats had trouble eating normal food because of their pronounced underbites. To address this issue, Lentz provided them with softened and diluted food that they could easily scoop up with their tongues and eat. Surprisingly, after just two months, the cats’ weights had doubled – Lucy weighed 4.9 lbs while Lola weighed 4.6 lbs. Although Lola has impaired vision, her bond with Lucy is incredibly strong. Lucy relies on Lola for guidance and companionship to the point where she refuses to eat or sleep until Lola returns from her appointments, no matter how long it takes. Lentz revealed this information and more when speaking to Love Meow.

There’s news about the duo, and it’s not all good. Lola, despite receiving constant attention and care, had to get an eye removed. However, the foster parents are making sure that both Lola and Lucy feel safe, loved, and taken care of despite this difficult situation. It will be interesting to see how their relationship changes now that both sisters are without sight. Despite the struggles they’ve faced, these amazing sisters continue to push through because they have one another.
