This is especially true for Bully, also known as Bobo, who is considered a “super senior” in dog years because he has lived longer than the average Chihuahua’s lifespan. Despite the challenges he’s faced, Bully has adapted well to his new home and is thriving after spending two years in a rescue center.
Bully, the senior dog residing in Chris Hughes’ rescue center, has a unique personality that encompasses several traits such as feistiness, naughtiness, sweetness, independence, gentleness, and calmness. However, his most notable characteristic is his old man bark, despite his age of 23 years. He enjoys pushing around one of the Chihuahuas under their care. Being the oldest resident of the rescue center, the staff celebrated his birthday in style, marking an incredible achievement of living through two different millennia. Bully, born on April 5, 1999, is among the few dogs with such a rare feat. Nonetheless, he preferred a more low-key celebration despite the significant occasion.
Hughes shared that they offered an elderly dog a soft cookie because he only has a few teeth left, and they broke it up into tiny pieces for him to relish. The dog seems to enjoy sleeping, which is why they believe it’s the most valuable present they can give him. Mr. Mo Project was founded by Chris Hughes and his wife Mariesa, who have a fondness for senior dogs. They were inspired to start the rescue after taking care of a 12-year-old canine named Moses, who was handed over because he was “too old.” The couple has converted their house into a haven for senior dogs and has spent over $55,000 to guarantee that these often disregarded pets have a safe and affectionate place to call home in their later years.
According to an interview with Insider, Chris and his partner have full-time jobs in addition to dedicating their time to The Mr. Mo Project. They view their work with the project as a passion project and all the funds they receive go towards it.
