Sarah Keith took her cherished 12-year-old Border Collie, named Ella, for a final walk on the stunning Bridlington beach in East Yorkshire. With the intention of making this moment exceptional, she utilized social media by connecting with other dog owners to ask them to join her on this touching adventure.

Sarah Keith bid farewell to her beloved companion, Ella, owing to an incurable disease. In memory of their happy moments, Sarah planned to take Ella for a final walk on their cherished beach in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. However, Sarah didn’t want to be alone during this palliative ritual, so she turned to social media and requested other dog owners to accompany her. Astonishingly, 30 canines with their owners turned up to express their support and partake in Ella’s last walk. Sarah made the heartbreaking decision after discovering that Ella was suffering from terminal oral cancer.

Upon careful consideration, Sarah concluded that it would be unjust to continue keeping the dog alive just because she was not ready to bid farewell. She acknowledged that it would be self-centered to extend the creature’s agony and therefore made the difficult decision to let go.

After announcing on social media that she had to make a difficult decision, she invited others to join her at Fraisthorpe beach on Monday. To her delight, Sarah was greeted by around 25 supporters and more than 30 furry friends who came to see her and Ella.

Sarah believed that Ella’s acquaintances might show up for the final Walk, but she didn’t want to inconvenience anyone on a Monday. Despite this, after publicizing the event on social media, Sarah received messages of encouragement from people all over the country. On the day of the Walk, more than thirty canines and twenty-five owners attended, including a group with less outgoing dogs who still wished to participate. Photos of the occasion have been shared online, and Sarah feels that Ella had a satisfying final day.

Sarah fondly reminisced about the moments when she and her furry companion, Ella, used to join a bunch of border collie owners for some fun-filled activities. Ella would excitedly run beside them while chasing a ball, and sometimes, even six or seven dogs would join in on the playtime. For Sarah, Ella was undoubtedly her favorite dog among the many she has owned before.
