For the initial time, a feline that has been a resident of the outdoors has now found herself and her kittens indoors.
Once upon a time in Florida, a kind-hearted person stumbled upon a group of kittens huddled together outside a house. The little felines were nestled in a heap of doors on the side of the building. The person quickly contacted a local rescue organization called Animalluvr’s Dream Rescue for assistance.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the kittens belonged to a stray cat that had been living underneath a nearby house for some time now. Despite her difficult-to-catch nature, the cat had managed to take care of her babies in the best way she could. According to the rescue organization, the neighborhood stray had possibly been abandoned by her previous owners when they moved away.
A volunteer at the rescue organization named Nadija stepped up to the plate and made it her personal mission to find the cat a safe and comfortable home. Her goal was to provide the mama cat with all the care and love she needed to raise her little trio without any worries.
After removing the pile of doors, several kittens were discovered scattered across the earth. They were then collected from the soil and relocated to a carrier. By utilizing a humane trap, the mother cat was eventually rescued with immense patience. Leaving behind mother cats is not an option, hence, we found a foster home that agreed to take in the entire family.
Allison Ilcken, a foster mom, shared with Love Meow that the family she took in was initially quite anxious. Even the little ones were hissing, and their mother, Rebecca, was uncertain about everything and acted accordingly. However, Rebecca had an amazing maternal instinct and was determined to keep her kittens (Kate, Randi, and Kevin) safe from harm. Despite being relieved to have a secure place to raise her trio, she still struggled to trust humans.
Allison, whose username on social media is @ilckenzoo, has come up with a unique solution to provide enhanced privacy for Rebecca. She used cardboard to create a den-like space that covers most of the bathtub, making Rebecca feel more secure and at ease. The new living arrangements also include fresh and soft bedding, an ample supply of food, and clean water to help Rebecca adjust to indoor life. According to Allison, Rebecca has adapted well and has been eating regularly. Furthermore, after just one night, she has learned how to use her litter box and has been using it ever since.
Allison, under the username @ilckenzoo, shared on social media that her kittens have reached the age of three weeks and are now testing their leg strength by exploring their nest. The adventurous felines are checking every corner and crevice, while their watchful mother, Rebecca, keeps a close eye on them. As they become more active and outgrow their current living space, Allison plans to provide them with a more spacious kitty suite.
According to Allison from @ilckenzoo, Mama Rebecca is a great mother and very defensive of her offspring. However, she is gradually becoming less aggressive towards Allison. Recently, Mama Rebecca even ate from her foster mom’s hand without any resistance, which was a significant achievement for her as she is slowly learning that humans are not threatening.
Allison from the Twitter handle @ilckenzoo shares that Rebecca, who has spent most of her life wandering around the streets, now has a support system. After the kittens grow up, Rebecca will undergo a spaying procedure to prevent future pregnancies and live her life to the fullest.
The three little ones have made friends with a furry resident named IzzyAllison @ilckenzoo. They are doing very well in their foster home and are happily waddling around with their plump, healthy bellies. Out of the brave trio, Kate, the tiger girl, is the most outgoing one. They all love being around people and have already been introduced to Izzy, who can’t wait to shower them with affection once they’re ready for socializing.
