Just before the heavy rain, a homeless kitten found its way into my home. Since then, the adorable feline has become quite affectionate and desires to be cradled all day long.
In a Brooklyn neighborhood, there was a calico kitten found wandering from one backyard to another. Luckily, a family helped her by providing food and water. Despite other cats leaving the area, she decided to stay. The kitten, named Nico, was quite frightened but longed for affection. Whenever someone held her, she would curl up into a ball without resisting petting. The family who found her contacted Paws of Hope NYC, and its member Gissell agreed to assist them. Knowing that severe weather was expected the next day, Gissell quickly contacted her veterinarian to set up a wellness check for the kitten.
Just in time before the heavy downpour in Brooklyn, Paws of Hope NYC came to the rescue of a little kitten. Although she had fleas, the good news is that she’s otherwise healthy. At first, she seemed anxious but soon found comfort in the loving arms of the veterinary staff. They were able to hold and cuddle her, which she seemed to enjoy very much. It’s safe to say that she’s thriving on all the extra love and attention she’s receiving.
Nico was initially frightened, but the staff’s warm welcome quickly put him at ease. When Danette Oberg, a volunteer for the rescue group, learned that the little kitten needed a temporary home, she didn’t hesitate to step up and take in Nico.
Paws of Hope NYC is a unique organization that relies on fostering to save the lives of cats and kittens. Since they don’t have a physical shelter, their dedicated team of foster parents play a crucial role in their mission.
According to Danette Oberg, Nico was still quite tired and hesitant after the long journey she had endured. However, she remained open to physical affection. Despite being scared and shaken, Nico displayed a sweet disposition and would cuddle up in people’s arms. Danette also mentioned that Nico made a mess of her own on the next day and was still apprehensive in her new environment.
Nico, the little feline, gradually developed courage thanks to Danette’s kind attention. The cat received a refreshing spa session from Danette, and as she dried him off, Nico found solace in her nurturing. Throughout the day, while Danette worked, the kitten rested on her desk and felt secure under her watchful eye. Nico slept soundly, reassured of his safety.
Nico found comfort in her foster mom’s desk as she took a peaceful nap. The heavy rain caused flooding in various areas of New York City, but Nico was saved just before the storm hit. Despite the downpour relentlessly hitting the windows, Nico remained warm and snug under her cozy blanket.
Danette Oberg shared that although her cat is still quite fearful, she feels comfortable around her. Danette holds her pet as often as possible to provide a sense of security. The next morning, Danette was greeted by a purring Nico who craved affection and nestled against her chest for a while.
Nico is gradually becoming more comfortable and has begun exploring unfamiliar toys. However, what brings her the most comfort is being held, especially when she snuggles into her owner’s neck. According to Danette Oberg, Nico’s fur is incredibly soft and this makes holding her all the more enjoyable.
Nico is now safe from hunger and danger on the streets, thanks to her timely rescue. Her confidence is growing as she enjoys the luxuries of a good life and the endless affection from her foster mother. Spending all day cuddling with her new caregiver is one of her favorite pastimes as she continues to shed her walls and become more comfortable in her surroundings.
