The newborn kitten was small, famished, and isolated. She cried out in distress, searching for her mother who was nowhere to be found. This particular feline was born only days ago and had yet to open her eyes. The sound of her pitiful mewling reached the ears of Los Angeles locals who discovered her in their backyard. However, she remained blind and motherless.
As soon as the lady of the house stumbled upon the little one, she brought her indoors and took care of her. She fed and snuggled her up, and that’s when she noticed something remarkable about her – she had a nose that split into two. After some time, she left the kitty where she had found her, hoping her mom would return, but she never did. That’s when the lady decided to share the story and a picture of the cutie on Facebook, with the hope that someone could take her in and provide her with the love and care she deserved.
Elizabeth, a volunteer at Wrenn Rescues, stumbled upon photos of a cat and felt an immediate urge to help. Despite the late hour of 9 pm, she didn’t hesitate to jump into her car and head over to assist the kitten. Upon seeing the feline in person, Elizabeth noticed that it had a cleft nose. However, this didn’t appear to bother the cat in any way.
Elizabeth opted for a safer feeding method by using a slim tube instead of a bottle to feed the baby. She speculated that the kitten’s mother may have left the kitten behind since nature has a way of prioritizing healthier cubs over weaker ones. “It’s just how things work sometimes, and we can’t do anything about it,” Elizabeth expressed.
The ward was given the endearing moniker of Ƙira by the young girl who took it upon herself to be her constant companion and caregiver during the initial stages. Despite having her own quirks, Ƙira proved to be a resilient fighter who was determined to make a speedy recovery. With a hearty appetite and rapid weight gain, she showcased her determination to get better.
After a short while, it became apparent that the cat was becoming more robust. She would meow loudly whenever she wanted food and recognized her caretaker’s scent. Whenever her guardian was close by, the cat, named Kira, appeared to become calm. Despite still being small enough to fit in one’s hand, Kira shows great determination and grows stronger with each passing day.
Elizabeth expresses her fondness for affectionate cats who enjoy being cuddled up in a cozy blanket after being fed. According to her, the fragile cat, Kira, is now safe and well cared for with constant attention. Despite being different from other felines, Kira has a bright future ahead of her, thanks to the compassionate individuals who rescued her. Elizabeth notes that Kira is grateful for the help she has received and seems to have a good understanding of it.
