As soon as Caitlyn Radel-Paaby met WilloW, she couldn’t help but appreciate her friendly nature. Radel-Paaby describes WilloW as a warm and loving puppy who loves to give hugs. Despite being a bit timid, this 10-month-old Great Pyrenees is fiercely devoted to her family, as demonstrated by a recent courageous deed.
After a trip to the grocery store on Thanksgiving Eve, Radel-Paaby came back to her house and found her boyfriend and son downstairs, but without their dog, WilloW. She noticed that WilloW wasn’t around like usual, and this made her worried as she normally greets her upon her return. This made her realize that something was wrong.
During her house inspection, Radel-Paaby stumbled upon WilloW, who was hiding under the desk and exhibiting signs of anxiety by incessantly barking and refusing to come out. Upon closer examination, she noticed that the canine had become defensive in an attempt to draw her attention towards the electrical outlet emitting warmth. It was then that they realized that WilloW had detected a fire in the outlet before it could have caused any significant damage. Although Radel-Paaby was not entirely sure what had alerted WilloW, her quick actions ultimately saved the day.
The fire department was called by the family and they arrived quickly to put out the sparks. According to Radel-Paaby, the fire department mentioned that if they hadn’t noticed the fire earlier, their house would have been engulfed in flames overnight. Radel-Paaby expressed her happiness as her eldest child overcame her fear of dogs and saved their lives.
Radel-Paaby expressed her surprise when she saw her dog, WilloW, act heroically for the first time. The canine usually keeps a close eye on her human brother’s safety and sticks to her owner, but nothing out of the ordinary until the electric outlet incident. The family gathered around the Thanksgiving table the following day, feeling grateful for having WilloW as their hero.
