The strength and perseverance of small creatures are lessons we can all take to heart, especially when looking at Dove, a charming little cat born with a limb abnormality. Despite her challenges, Dove has shown remarkable resilience in her young life. She is part of a litter of five adorable kittens born to a tabby cat, and she stands out for her bravery and determination.

Dove came into the world with a unique physical condition that caused her front legs to be curved, making it challenging for her to walk like other puppies. Her siblings tended to overlook her during meal times because of her condition, causing her to miss out on the essential nutrients she needed for healthy growth and development.

Dove and her littermates, along with their mother, were brought to Oregon Friends Of Shelter Animals. Soon after, Dove was placed under the care of a foster home where her mother Angela also stayed.

Angela observed that Dove was vulnerable to her siblings during mealtime. To ensure the kitty had ample opportunity to eat undisturbed, Angela arranged for more alone time with her mother. Subsequently, Dove flourished, gaining weight and displaying newfound vitality thanks to the improved feeding routine.

This adorable little furball turned out to be incredibly friendly, and loved snuggling up in the company of their favorite person after finishing up their physical therapy. Too was eager to explore the world around them, and quickly followed in the footsteps of their siblings by investigating everything within reach. Fortunately, Dove’s foster mother and Calliope were there to give them encouragement along the way, and Too was quick to return the favor with sweet purrs and affection. As a mother, Dove proved to be both protective and devoted, clinging tightly to her kittens and becoming distraught at the mere thought of being separated from them. Angela noted that Dove always made sure her little ones were healthy, clean, happy, and well-fed, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to their wellbeing.

The progress that Dove has made is truly remarkable. Not only are her front legs now much straighter, but they are also much stronger than before. She can now enjoy all the activities that any other cat would partake in – from walking and running to jumping and playing.

Angela says that it’s alright if it appears a tad distinct because the girl being referred to is a happy-go-lucky individual who enjoys life to the maximum.
